Dental Implants Pasadena, TX

If you have missing teeth and don’t prefer dentures or bridges, talk to our dentist to check if dental implants are a suitable alternative for you. Implants are small titanium posts surgically placed into the jawbone under the gum to act like regular tooth roots, and replacement teeth are bonded to them.

Implants are created to blend in with your existing teeth and are a fantastic long-term option for smile restoration. They are made from pure titanium and function as a sturdy anchor for replacement teeth.

Benefits of Dental Implants

Implants are recognized as the best option to replace missing teeth permanently. Leading benefits of dental implants include:

  • They can be personalized to fit the need and can be used for any form of tooth loss.
  • They fuse with the jawbone like a root and offer a stable foundation for tooth restoration.
  • They stimulate and preserve the bone structure.
  • They offer support to multiple missing teeth with dentures or bridges.
  • Artificial teeth make you feel confident and give you back your smile.

Types of Dental implants

There are two major types of dental implants. They are:

  • Endosteal Implants

These are the most common types of implants that are directly implanted into the jawbone. However, to fuse to the jawbone, they need enough healthy bone tissues. After proper healing of the surrounding gum tissue, they require a second surgery to connect a post to the original implant. Later, an artificial tooth is fitted to the placeholder posts individually.

  • Subperiosteal Implants

If you don’t want implants placed into your jawbone, you may go for subperiosteal implants instead. These consist of a metal frame fitted onto the jawbone, below the gum tissue. The titanium posts attached to this metal frame protrude through the gums, and artificial teeth are then mounted to these posts.

How do Dental Implants Work?

Implants fuse to your jawbone, offering firm support for artificial teeth. First, our dentist surgically positions the implant into the jawbone. The bone around the implant takes time to heal, and you might need to wait until the implant gets firmly fused to the jawbone. It makes the implant strong and holds it in place. Once it gets integrated, it’s time for the placement of the artificial tooth.

We provide a customized dental crown for a single tooth implant based on the shape, size, color, and fit to blend it perfectly with your natural teeth. However, for replacing more teeth, we provide customized dentures and bridges to fit your mouth. Our dentist will provide you with a temporary crown, denture, or bridge for normal functioning until the replacement teeth are ready.
